Strengthening Environmental Rule of Law in Laos

The JuSTICE Project is working to ensure that environmental laws are not just written but effectively enforced. Through our Climate and Environmental Justice (CEJ) component, we help judges, prosecutors, and legal professionals apply environmental laws fairly and consistently. We also raise awareness among communities, empowering them to understand their rights and responsibilities in protecting natural resources. In collaboration with the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and other key partners, we promote the environmental rule of law to tackle challenges like deforestation, biodiversity loss, and climate change. This initiative strengthens legal frameworks and fosters real action for a more just and sustainable future in Laos.
